Many people start off the Paleo diet by eliminating grains and packaged foods. This is certainly an acceptable way to ease into eating healthier. They may start by eating meats and seafood, cooked vegetables and salad. But one of the things that Paleo newbies find difficult is finding Paleo diet snacks.

The good news about Paleo is you can eat many smaller satisfying meals and you may find that youdont need as many snacks. However there are always times when a little something is desired. Dont forget though, that you always have the option of a smaller meal as your snack. But lets look at some simple snack ideas.
Are you expecting beef jerky? O.K. fine, jerky is a protein rich Paleo snack, however be careful with packaged versions full of additives. If possible make your own or look for paleo products in your health store.
Eggs are always a satisfying snack. A hard boiled egg is quite satisfying as an in between meal snack or addition to another snack food.
What about Chocolate ? Yes, chocolate. Chocolate is not truly Paleo, however many Paleo people do indulge in chocolate as a treat. The reason being though it is not truly Paleo, it does not contain the properties that the Paleo diet is avoiding. The darker the chocolate the better. The purer the chocolate the better also. If you want to be 100% Paleo, then avoid it, but if you are happy being mostly Paleo, this makes a great treat.
Nuts galore. Just avoid peanuts to be Paleo. Peanuts are actually a legume, so they are avoided in the Paleo diet, but that leaves a host of others including macadamia nuts, cashews and more. Add some to the above chocolate for a homemade trail mix.
Vegetable sticks like carrots and celery are very good for you and nice and crunchy.
Apples are an amazing fruit. They are loaded with soluble fiber and are great for the digestion. Slice some up plain, or add some nut butter from the above choices.
Fruit salad is always a delicious treat. Refreshing, and so good for you.
Now we have just barely cracked the surface of Paleo snacking. The truth is, the more recipes you have the better.
